Warning Signs of Periodontal Disease

Also known as gum disease and periodontitis, this oral malady is a progressive disease and is the leading reason for tooth loss in adults.  The first signs of periodontal disease are the irritation and inflammation of the gum tissue (gingiva) caused by toxins in the plaque.
